Interim HealthCare Awards Paraprofessional of the YearSunrise, Florida, November 9, 2009 - An Interim HealthCare employee received the distinction of National Paraprofessional of the Year by Interim HealthCare Inc. This honor is given to an individual who has been nominated by their office and who has consistently exemplified the H.E.A.R.T. qualities of Interim HealthCare Paraprofessionals - Honorable, Experience, Ability, Reliability, and Training throughout the past year. Sally Cornell has been a Home Health Aide (HHA) with Interim HealthCare Marietta, Ohio since April 2008. Sally works with many Alzheimer's and Hospice patients and has participated in specific Alzheimer's training that assists her in providing care. She always does research and asks pertinent questions so she can provide her best care for her patients and treats each patient with great care and compassion while allowing them to maintain their dignity. Sally treats the families of the patient with the same compassion and is a highly requested caregiver. Sally has excellent observation and documentation skills. She follows the care plan and always reports changes in a client's condition. In several cases Sally reported skin condition changes that allowed skilled nursing to become involved and they were able to keep the patient at home and avoid costly emergency room and doctor visits. Sally's work performance exceeds expectations and she is great at showing new employees the "ropes" and orientating them to a client. Her supervisor describes her as kind, gentle, reliable, trustworthy, compassionate and wears her heart on her sleeve - and it shows through the care Sally provides. She is the type of employee that you wish you had more of and would trust her to care for anyone. She often volunteers to take on extra assignments- even the tough hard to staff patients - with a smile. Sally definitely has H.E.A.R.T.
