Interim HealthCare Inc. Names 2004 Interim HomeStyle Hero

May 7, 2004
Sunrise, Florida

Interim HealthCare Inc., the nation's largest provider of home health and supplemental staffing, announced the winner of the national Interim HomeStyle Hero Award for 2004. Ruth Carpenter, Home Health Aide, from Morgantown, West Virginia was the recipient of the national award which recognizes a home health aide, personal care assistant or non-medical caregiver who best represents the character traits that make up a hero such as honesty, experience, responsibility and organization. As the winner, she receives a $500 award. An honorable mention was also recognized: Sandra Ademnik, Home Health Aide, of Somerset, Pennsylvania.

Interim HomeStyle Services is the company's brand name for non-medical home care services. The Interim HomeStyle Hero award is unique in that each nominee was asked to obtain a client testimonial providing reasons why their caregiver should be recognized as a HomeStyle Hero. Forty-nine Home Health Aides, Companions and Personal Care Assistants from Interim offices throughout the country were nominated for this prestigious award by their clients and supervisors. Testimonials were received by clients ranging from trust advisors, spouses and parents of the person receiving care to the actual individual receiving care-the majority of them seniors who rely on Home Health Aides for personal care assistance so they can remain living independently at home.

Al Sorensen, President and CEO of Interim HealthCare Inc. states, "The HomeStyle Hero award was developed in 2002 initially as a way to recognize our valued employees who provide exceptional non-medical care and companionship in the home. Three years and over 100 client testimonials later, it has also become a way to hear what our patients and their families have to say about the daily care they receive. Some require personal care, transportation or medication reminders, others require friendly companionship. In any case, clients have expressed how their lives have been improved. Many clients also expressed a sense of security knowing that skilled care is also available, should it become necessary." Mr. Sorensen continues, "The HomeStyle Hero award is always a difficult selection process, particularly this year with a record 49 outstanding nominations. We are proud that our caregivers are making such a difference in improving people's lives."
