Our History and Services

Interim HealthCare Inc., founded in 1966, was originally called Medical Personnel Pool. It was a division of Labor Pool of America, which was founded in 1946. The name was changed to Interim in 1992 to allow the company to operate diverse lines of business under one banner and also more adequately reflected the services provided at that time.

In 1997, Interim HealthCare was acquired by Cornerstone Equity Investors as a spin-off from Interim. The separation of Interim HealthCare from Interim was pursued to enable Interim HealthCare to focus on opportunities to become a clinically and technologically advanced health care company. As an independent company, Interim HealthCare was much better positioned to accelerate its growth by providing focused clinical programs, data and information.

Today, Interim HealthCare, acquired by Sentinel Capital Partners, is the nation's largest combined provider of home care and health care staffing. It is also the nations oldest and most successful health care franchise organization with the average owner tenure of more than 20 years.

Interim HealthCare has two core businesses: home health care and health care staffing.

Home Care includes both skilled care and supportive services which are also offered under the Interim HomeStyle Services brand name. Skilled care includes nurses, therapists and other specialized caregivers. They provide clinical intervention such as wound care, assistance with medication, improved ambulation or teaching individuals and their families self-management of their care needs. Non-medical assistance is provided by home health aides, personal care aides, companions or homemakers and can include assistance with a variety of activities of daily living including shopping, bathing, light housekeeping and companionship.

Health care staffing includes supplemental staffing and Site Solutions for health care facilities and other businesses. Supplemental staffing places nurses, therapists, and other health care professionals in facilities, schools and businesses for short-term assignments or as direct hires. Site Solutions provides a comprehensive approach to managing, measuring and increasing the performance of a facility's supplemental workforce. A Site Solution partnership improves performance, reduces costs and maximizes quality, value and return on investment.

Interim Occupational Health focuses solely on providing occupational health services to employers across the United States. This division has been in operation since 1995, providing occupational health solutions ranging from temporary staffing to full facility management.

Together, through home care and health care staffing, Interim HealthCare professionals and paraprofessionals provide care and compassion to nearly 50,000 people on any given day. Physicians, families and a wide range of health care facilities depend on our proven clinical pathways and national policies and procedures to provide consistent care and experience they can trust.
